De Blinkerd invites you to the launch presentations of our latest projects.

On the 28th and 29th of June we will present De Blinkerd Editions #7, #8 and #9 and Oule #2 at Tristero‘s atelier house Gallait 80.

Tuesday 28th of June: presentation of Martinique 2002 in collaboration with photographer Beat Streuli.

During the winter of 2002-2003 Streuli made images of Martinique in various ways: with a digital, analogue and video camera. Twenty years later this trip resulted in three different projects presented under the title Martinique 2002.

In the presence of Beat Streuli, we present each of the three parts. The book Martinique 2002 (Oule #2), with Streuli’s first digital series and a text by Hilde Van Gelder. The video La Salubre 2002 (De Blinkerd Editions #8), that focuses on the nature on the island. And the edition Fort-de-France 2002 (De Blinkerd Editions #7), consisting of three signed analogue photos printed on A2 format.

In conversation with Hilde Van Gelder, the artist will briefly introduce the project. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to discover the various works. The installation will remain on view during the two days of the launch events.

Wednesday June 29th: presentation of After les verrotières (De Blinkerd Editions #9), a poster project by Nicoletta Grillo.

The artist was selected from the participants of the Open Call. The visual material used for the poster comes from a larger project Grillo did at Musée L, Louvain-la-Neuve, entitled After les Verrotières. For this project she worked with the Wunderkammer of the museum. During walks on the Belgian coast she collected washed-up objects, after which she photographed them.

Nicoletta Grillo lives and works in Milan. She will not be present herself, but will give a short introduction via video call. At Gallait 80 Marta Wódz, art critic, will contextualize the realization.
