De Blinkerd presents De Blinkerd Editions #9:
« After les verrotières » by Nicoletta Grillo

« After les verrotières » is a poster with five photographs by artist Nicoletta Grillo, who was selected by De Blinkerd from an Open Call.

The photographs portray washed-up objects collected after high tide on the beaches of Belgium and Northern France. The gesture of collecting recalls the labor of the verrotières, women who dug for worms to be sold for fishing in the northern sea sands.

The visual material used for the poster dialogues with a larger project realized by Nicoletta Grillo at Musée L, Louvain-la-Neuve, also entitled « After les verrotières ». For this project she worked with objects from the Wunderkammer of the museum.
