Knots are used for knitting, weaving and fishing. They tie shoelaces and neckties. There are many different types of knots: diamond knots, bowline knots, reef knots and the figure of eight. They can fasten and tangle, tighten and loosen. A knot is also a measure of the speed of wind. But most importantly, knots are used to bind things together and their purpose is to hold.
