Oule is De Blinkerd’s book series. Born from the Occitan ola and Latin olla, meaning “pot,” Oule carries the memory of a vessel — but its true artistry belongs to water. For centuries, torrents have carved the earth with relentless force, chiseling bedrock into smooth, circular hollows. These plunge pools and potholes, polished by swirling currents, gleam like scars of ancient storms — silent witnesses to the power that shaped them. Today, they rest in quiet gorges, their still waters echoing the roar of rivers long vanished. The name flows beyond these forms, tracing the paths of streams and villages that cling to the edges of water’s enduring dance.

Oule #1 Erien Withouck, On Wind Knots

On Wind Knots (2021) was created by artist Erien Withouck and traces a journey on a ferry to an island. The protagonist wonders about the stories she hears on women selling knots of wind and reflects on the role of women at sea. She jumps between past and present to imagine futures.
